The freshest remix of Bruno Mars and B.O.B’s Nothin’ on You by the freshest DJ’s that go by, well, The Freshest. I caught this foursome at The Rub this past weekend and danced the night away. I haven’t been able to stop listening to their sets and especially this remix. Have a listen.

After the success of her first album Animal, Ke$ha is set to release her second EP Cannibal scheduled to drop November 22, 2010. Her first single off the album, We R Who We R, was originally pitched and rejected by Rihanna. No doubt that it fits Ke$ha’s audible style. The song is a definite club banger and has the potential to top the charts.

It’s been a terribly long time since I last posted. Too long infact so before I dive into my music post, I want to thank all of you who have kept visiting my page. Even with 3 months of no posts, I still have a nice amount of daily visits. Thank you for visiting and listening to the music that makes me move.

Now back to the aural flavor. While I was channel surfing, I happened upon MTVU and discovered Sky Ferreira Her new American single “Obsession” has an edgy sound that’s like a mix of electro pop and Queen’s “We Will Rock You”. After the first verse I was hooked and anxiously awaited the end of the video to find out her name.

Sky Ferreira’s image, American Apparel with a twist of badass. Sexy, confident and talented, the Portuguese-American singer and song writer wrote for the likes of Britney Spears and now is working with top producers in the industry. Signed by Bloodshy and Avant, Sky Ferreria’s album is set to release in 2011 but she’s already getting ear play with her single “Obsession” and “One” which was released in Europe. The fabulously amazing Bruno Mars dropped his debut single Just The Way You Are on Monday and just like his collaboration with B.o.B on Nothin’ on You this song is amazing. The pop/urban singing sensation whisks his listener away with his beautifully smooth voice making his music undeniably addicting. He made his vocal debut to the mainstream with B.o.B but he surely can and will stand strongly on his own two feet with his vocals and song writing skills. Bruno Mars prepares to perform at the Bowery Ballroom on August 25th. Tickets are only $15 so grab em’ because these will sell out fast.

Though my page has been filled with lots of Electro House music lately, I have a soft sport for some good Hip-Hop/R&B music. With that, I wanted to share with you my latest musical discovery Gilbere Forte’ whose song I Know Your Love really moves your body and makes you feel sexy to boot.

Young and multifaceted rapper/producer Gilbere Forte’, who currently lives in Philly, pulls much of his musical inspiration from his roots in the midwest. He credits parents vinyl records containing classic voices lof Issac Hayes, Roy Ayers and Phil Colins. His rap inspiration comes from hip-hop heavy weights like the Notorious B.I.G and 2Pac meshing for a body moving sound. Having the musical versatility of a camelion, Gilbere Forte’ sounds like he could collaborate with anyone from the likes of B.o.B, JayZ and even Madonna.

With the support of his brother DiNiro, who has also made a name for himself in the music industry via the radio waves, brand management and his own production work, Gilbere Forte’ has developed a sound that stretches across the music genre plane. From rap that’s reminiscent of NYC in the early to mid 90′s in his track Troy, classic pop vibes like in I Know My Love and smooth electro cool beats in Elegant Life. Gilbere Forte’s EP 87 Dreams drops later this year and with it he is “…promising to ‘change lives, moods, and vibes’.”

Today is an awesome day! Why you ask? Well, my friend was just hired for a job with my company which means more money for her and a referral bonus for me. SCORE! I had an awesome internal interview for a digital marketing position I’ve been dying to get and found out my boss gave me a glowing recommendation so I can only hope I’m offered the amazing opportunity. One of my best friends got into Tulane for grad school and I’m so happy for her. I invested in the Barnes & Noble nook via a strong recommendation from my co worker and I’m absolutely in love and to top it off, I’m starting to look for apartments and puppies with my novio. Orlando remix/mashup duo don’t have much about them on the internet but their mixes would make you think otherwise. These two have a long list of mixes under their belt all with heavy electro flavor.  I wish I had more to say about these guys but their music really does speak for them. Perfect weather and perfect air plus Passion Pit!, nothing could compare. Though I’m a newbie to the live show scene,  last night was one of my best concert experiences so far. Last night Passion Pit played in Prospect Park, Brooklyn for Brooklyn’s yearly Celebrate Brooklyn festival. I was looking forward to going not only because they’re one of my favorites and I hadn’t seen them live yet but also because my friend has been working really hard to promote their new cover of Smashing Pumpkins song Tonight Tonight  for SPIN Magazine so I was happy to help support her hard work. Though I love their music, seeing them live could not compare. The sound infiltrated the crowd and not one person could stop dancing, or singing along for that matter. Fresh blue eyes and a sound that wont stop your body from moving, Carmen Reece’s music not only connects your body to the beat but also your mind to the music. Haling from England, Carmen Reece mixes her classic dance track with the electro dubsteppy feel that we’ve seen come from England as well. It’s a good blend of genre sounds creating a hit dance track. Reece recently announced on her twitter that her new single Raindrop has been added to the top 20 poll on Sirius Hits 1 which you can vote for here. Kudos!

Carmen Reece has also worked heavily with world renounced remixer and  DJ Dave Aude who has mixed tracks from artists like Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Pussycat Dolls. Have a hit of Carmen Reece’s sound below. The original release of her new single Raindrop and the remix by Dave Aude are below.
